Guided by a vision to reshape the lives of veterans and their families, Gino Johnson founded Champions For Veterans. His goal: to ensure they receive the VA benefits they've earned and rightly deserve. Before establishing Champions For Veterans, Gino navigated the corporate landscape for nine years, applying his keen skills in accounting and auditing to serve both large and small-scale organizations.

His proficiency in the field is backed by solid academic credentials — Gino holds both a bachelor's and a master's degree in Accounting from the University of Mississippi. Gino Johnson is not just a founder but a steadfast champion for veterans, committed to making a tangible impact on their lives.

David Stokely is a US Navy veteran and an Executive Coach at Champions for Veterans, where he helps veterans navigate the complexities of securing the VA disability benefits they deserve. With a deep understanding of the VA system and a passion for advocacy, David offers personalized support and guidance to veterans throughout their entire claims process.

In addition to his work with veterans, David serves as a Flight Test Service Engineer at GE Aerospace, where he supervises the GE9X engine Flight Test program in Seattle and at locations worldwide. His technical expertise and leadership in aerospace and flight test have provided him with a unique skill set in problem-solving, critical thinking, and supporting high-stakes projects.

David is dedicated to ensuring veterans receive the resources and benefits they deserve, and he strives to make the VA process more accessible and less overwhelming for all those he helps. His motivation stems from a passion for helping fellow veterans in the continued service of our great nation.

    Johnny Lunsford originally joined the Navy out of Hillsboro, Ohio in 2008 and spent an 11 year career as a Logistics Specialist.  During the Navy he was stationed in Kaneohe, Hawaii on a P-3 squadron where he twice deployed to Japan, Italy and Africa supporting surveillance and anti-piracy missions. Johnny then had an award winning tour as a recruiter in Somerset, Kentucky before transitioning back to the fleet and decommissioning the famous aircraft carrier, CVN-65, THE USS ENTERPRISE.  He then was stationed at Joint Forces Staff College and supported logistical operations there before being medically retired in 2019. Johnny achieved the rank of E-6 in just under 7 years, was awarded 5 Naval Achievement Medals and a Joint Forces Commendation medal amongst many other awards. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on management, from Post University in 2019.

     After the military, Johnny served as a Data Analyst for the Fortune 500 company, Norfolk Southern in Norfolk VA. Then he was discovered by a military headhunting and recruiting firm to be a Regional Director for Corvus Janitorial Systems in Cleveland, Ohio.  He spent time here building a new market for the company establishing the fastest growing market in company history.  After 4 years here, Johnny decided to move back to Somerset, Kentucky to be closer to family and started a new career in 2025 as a relationship development partner for First Southern Bank.  Johnny is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 children. He is particularly passionate about helping people professionally, which is why he likes helping vets get their benefits!

My name is Eric Carter, and I am a Cold War veteran of the 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, USMC. Today, I dedicate my expertise to coaching and advocacy through CFV, ensuring that veterans receive the benefits they’ve earned.  

With 30 years of experience in professional network marketing, I’ve helped thousands of individuals create meaningful change in their lives. As a seasoned public speaker, I have addressed audiences of thousands in-person and tens of thousands online, I now leverage my skills to dismantle the barriers veterans face when navigating VA benefit qualifications.

Drawing upon my foundation of military service, which included two tours in Iraq and an honorable discharge as Sergeant (E-5), I developed core values of discipline, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to mission success. This experience seamlessly transitioned into a successful professional career spanning commercial real estate, business ownership, and corporate operations, where I consistently drove growth and managed complex projects. However, my personal journey navigating the VA system illuminated the significant hurdles many veterans face in accessing their deserved benefits.

It was through joining Champions for Veterans that I discovered a more effective and empowering pathway for veterans to secure these benefits. This realization, combined with my extensive background coaching individuals and teams in diverse areas such as business, real estate, team building, recruiting, and marketing, has solidified my commitment to CFV's mission. Furthermore, my involvement with various non-profit organizations focused on both business and veterans underscores my deep-seated desire to serve this community. I am eager to leverage my skills and firsthand understanding of the VA system to guide fellow veterans, streamline the process, and ensure they receive the recognition and support they have rightfully earned.
